I want to add one point to the conclusion.

A man did return from the dead and most did not believe Him. John 1:11 (NKJV) 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
I pray as I know you do that more may come to the knowledge of the one who is the Lord of all, even Jesus the Christ. God's blessings to you.Earl Hardynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4176366337700756606.post-11681419882807644802013-07-15T12:02:02.539-05:002013-07-15T12:02:02.539-05:00Wow -- that is a lot to think about, thank you! I thank you for listing this out here and bringing it to my attention!Authorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17979255140890156113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4176366337700756606.post-67347743044963224142013-07-08T19:24:53.010-05:002013-07-08T19:24:53.010-05:00This is an interesting set of questions: What it i...This is an interesting set of questions: What it is the significance of 12 disciples (a.k.a.)? And 72 additional disciples? Please note that Our Lord was fulfilling the promise that God made to the Israelites in the Old Covenant/Testament. Matthew's Gospel presents Jesus as the New Moses, who also assigned 12 tribe leaders and 72 disciples. And who also 'delivered the Chosen People from bondage', and who also experienced transfiguration with 3 of his closest followers, and who also established a priesthood, and who also led his people into the Promised Land through water, and who also demonstrated command over the natural elements, and who also established a Passover whose liturgy includes the sacrifice and consumption of an unbroken lamb, who also delivered 'daily bread/manna'. By selecting these numbers of followers, Jesus was intentionally identifying himself as a New Moses in order to bring about the perfect vision of God's family. I hope this sheds light on the issue of 72 disciples.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4176366337700756606.post-33778177263188373112013-05-03T12:29:52.158-05:002013-05-03T12:29:52.158-05:00Thank you for your comments! Do we let our individual churches and doctrine decide those things for us? I'd much rather decide those things on my own through a thorough study of the bible, so that's precisely what I'm doing. I am still on the lookout for more scripture based on this topic, and I will surely write about it when I get there!Authorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17979255140890156113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4176366337700756606.post-84206102074149087302013-05-03T12:23:33.682-05:002013-05-03T12:23:33.682-05:00Matt, I am thrilled to be able to help!Matt, I am thrilled to be able to help!Authorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17979255140890156113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4176366337700756606.post-75700199754238384792013-05-03T12:22:09.230-05:002013-05-03T12:22:09.230-05:00Thank you very much for your encouragement! There are parts that I have found hard to take literally, like putting all the animals onto the Ark. I like to think of it as an allegory. People willing to spend that much time on a boat to server a higher purpose is in a different league altogether than what faith I see in my daily lives. It is quite awe inspiring.Georgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07594331247579507170noreply@blogger.com
